TOPIC 1:
~GETTING READY TO LEARN~

Differences between universities and schools exist in several factors such as rules, subject selection, teacher-student relationships and others. Each child moves from school to college after he/she has pass their examination. This is also the time when he/she has to choose between the various universities available in his/her residential area or nearby areas that meet his/her needs. There are many differences between schools and universities that will be highlighted in this topic.

~LEARNING STYLE INVENTORY~

Have you ever questioned yourself "what is my learning style?" and "how to know my learning style?

What is the learning style inventory?
Learning style inventories are designed to help respondents determine which learning style they have. These inventories typically take the form of a questionnaire that focuses on how people prefer to learn. Respondents choose the answers that most closely resemble their own preferences. Everyone have different learning styles. We cannot force someone to use only one style and of course we also do not like when someone force us to do only one style for learning.
We were given this attachment during an online class(week 1) and asked to answer it.

TOPIC 2:
~GOAL SETTING~

WHAT COMES IN MY MIND WHEN I HEAR GOALS?

In my opinion, goal setting is very important. It baits the direction of what we want to achieve in what we will do. Goals give focus and direction, providing the foundation for our plan, as well as providing motivation. Not having a goal is like getting in your car and driving with no destination, you don’t know where you’re going or how to get there. As people say, a goal without a plan is just a wish.

This is an example template for goal setting.

~GOAL STATEMENT~

The goal statement is effectively the opposite of the problem statement and should also comprise a couple of sentences. The goal statement is a short vision statement of what we would like to achieve by addressing the problem. We also must know about the process of what are we going to achieve.

✅✅

~THE 5 STEP APPROACH~

  • Write goals down
The most important thing is to record the information given while studying. The process of that way, you will be easy to helps crystallize them in your mind. This process also better enables you to commit to them.

  • Reading and re-writing goals
These two are very effective visual aids. By physically rewriting goals and pasting them in places us regularly frequent, we make them more real in our mind.

  •  Create deadlines
Without deadlines, your goals are merely dreams. Set deadlines for both short and long term goals, and I promise, we will get there sooner! Remember that deadlines can be flexible. Life changes and so do goals. Never be afraid to adjust the timeframe for a goal. What's important is to keep moving forward.

  • Make goal setting as a daily routine
Begin every morning with a "To Do" list. This will help you organize and better manage your time. In addition, your goals will be right smack under your nose every day. Do not get discouraged over any unfinished items. Simply transfer them to the next morning's list.

  • Making the goal achievable and measurable
Make your goals attainable so you won't get discouraged. The short-term goals above are attainable for me, but they may not be for you. Or maybe for you, my short-term goals aren't challenging enough.

TOPIC 3:
~TIME MANAGEMENT~

TIME IS GOLD. Time management is very important to help us set goals to be achieved in the future. We will be able to use time well and optimally if we manage time in an orderly manner. Time management can prevent ourselves from stress problems and feelings of anxiety. Therefore, all planned activities must be carried out on time. The way to manage time optimally is to make a good work plan.

~FIXED-COMMITMENT CALENDAR~

So, This is my fixed commitment calendar. As a student, we should be alert with the time we have set during the learning time.

~JOB TASK ANALYSIS~

This is my job task analysis. For me, the list above is something I often do to make it easier for me to analyze my daily work.

~PRIORITIZED TO-DO LIST~

This is everything that I need to do. This prioritized to-do list is more detailed and look like a reminder to make us more alert to do all the task.

TOPIC 4:
~MEMORY, LEARNING & IMPROVING CONCENTRATION~

WHAT IS MEMORY??

Memory is a dynamic process by which we interact and retain information that we perceive in our environment. Memory is the part of human cognition that gives us the ability to learn.

THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF MEMORY

Sensory Memory: This form of memory is a temporary storage for sensations and stimuli we experience in our environments.

  • Short-term Memory: This form of memory refers to when information is temporarily held in the brain, from seconds to hours. One is consciously aware of this information.

  • Working Memory: Working memory is the active player in short-term memory. It specifically helps us use information in making quick decisions and guides our interactions. For example, how we might behave in a situation or how we communicate.

  • Long-term Memory: This form of memory is when information is held in the brain for a very long time, which can be for years. An example might be how to ride a bike, or your childhood home address. This type of memory can be maintained outside of conscious awareness.

TOPIC 5:
~TAKING LECTURE NOTES~

WHAT IS NOTES TAKING??

Note taking (or notetaking) is the practice of writing down pieces of information in a systematic way.
Well, here are 3 different note-taking styles: outline, visual, or cornell. Outline and visual notes are quick up-front, but require more work after class to make them useful. Cornell notes take the most work up-front, but are the most useful later on.

TOPIC 6:
~ACADEMIC INTEGRITY & PERFORMANCE~
